America’s Thailand Star Will Conquer Korean Kang

Phuket fighter Andrew Leone left his native land with a dream; establish himself as a MMA star in Asia.

Thus far, he’s done everything right. He’s won fights (10-1), he’s earned a contract with One FC, Asia’s première promotion, and is set to compete in the finals of the Asia Bantamweight Grand Prix in Korea, where he may face old rival Kyung Ho Kang in the final.

Kang controversially lost to Leone after coming in overweight, and he claims that the fight only panned out as such due to the point deductions. Leone insists that in taking the fight on short notice, he was unprepared as a flyweight to face the former lightweight, and asserts that after an initial early dominance from Kang, that he worked his way back into the fight.

Either way, should be fun.

Leone coaches, trains and fights out of Phuket Top Team, home to the best BJJ Phuket has to offer, and also world class wrestling, boxing and Muay Thai. PTT is undoubtedly the best camp for MMA Phuket has to offer.

Here is an interview conducted with Leone in the local swimming pool;
